KMOX

St. Louis, Missouri
1120 kHz (AM)
50 kW (unlimited)
Non-directional antenna

Monitored on the Global Tuners receiver in Cleveland, Ohio
at 0748 (UTC) = 2:48 AM (Central)
Sunday, October 2, 2011 (Central)
SINPO:  55455

I first tuned in KMOX on the Global Tuners receiver in Vero Beach, Florida, but decided to try a receiver closer to the transmitter site, and sure enough, the receiver in Cleveland, Ohio brought in KMOX loud and clear.  I heard ads for TailgateFan.com and Ray Vinson Mortgage Group, followed by a station ID (stating both AM and FM), and the conclusion of an episode of Suspense on the show "When Radio Was".

The signal was strong, with no interference from other stations, with some static and flutter, but no fading.

A short clip of the transmission with station ID can be accessed here.
(May need to increase the volume control on your computer.)

The station’s web site is linked here.

Here is a virtual screenshot of the receiver (actually an ICOM PCR-1000
with a G4RV dipole antenna) from Global Tuners (click to enlarge):

Here is a map showing the distance from transmitter to receiver (click to enlarge):

I sent a request for a QSL via U.S. mail on October 3, 2011.
I will post it here as soon as it arrives.
