WCCO came booming through at a distance of over 600 miles with a public service announcement from the USDA.  A station ID mentioning Twitter was announced, as well as "This is News Radio 8-3-0, WCCO."  A talk radio show produced by WBZ in Boston followed, with several guests (Gary King, Rich Kelly, and Chuck Goldstone) discussing television.  A pitch was made on behalf of "For the Children (Volume 12)" to benefit Children's Hospital, and for Jenny Metevia, a clairvoyant-medium.  A discussion about the show Breaking Bad ensued.

The signal was strong, with only minor interference in the background and some flutter.  There was no fading.

A short clip of the transmission with station ID can be accessed here.
(May need to increase the volume control on your computer.)

The station’s web site is linked here.

Here is a virtual screenshot of the receiver (actually an ICOM PCR-1000
with a G5RV dipole antenna) from Global Tuners (click to enlarge):

I sent a request for a QSL via U.S. mail on October 12, 2011.
I will post it here as soon as it arrives.
