I tuned in to KNBR and heard advertisements for Bass Electric, Jiffy Lube, and Burger King before the station ID "ESPN Radio on KNBR 680" at the top of the hour. This was followed by a list of upcoming baseball games; a report about Tiger Woods' performance at the PGA Tour in California; college football scores; and additional station IDs, including "KNBR San Francisco, a Cumulus station".
The signal was weak at a distance of over 650 miles, with little interference from other stations but some noise and fading. Nonetheless, the content was usable and the station IDs clear.
Here is a virtual screenshot of the receiver (actually an ICOM PCR-1000
with a discone antenna) from Global Tuners (click to enlarge):

I sent a request for a QSL via U.S. mail on October 11, 2011.
I will post it here as soon as it arrives.
