This frequency at this time had at least four stations competing for my attention. WSYR was underneath the stronger WMCA, a religious station in Kearny, New Jersey; CFCB, a country music station in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada; and Radio Reloj in Santa Clara, Cuba, with tick-tocks every second and "RR" in Morse Code every minute.
Still, WSYR punched through at four minutes after the hour, with a station ID by a male announcer, followed by weather from a female announcer (Stella ___?). She mentioned "central New York" and the station's FM frequency 106.9 as well as the AM frequency. The male announcer then continued. The signal was otherwise weak and faded considerably.
